Thin

Fly.  Nikon D7000
25th March 2016

I managed to persuade this fly to stay still for long enough for me to capture its image.

I find it quite amazing how wings so thin can beat so fast without shredding.

Loose Change

Money, Nikon D7000
24th March 2016

I put the macro lens on the camera again today and directed it towards the change out of my pocket.

I better be quick with the photograph before the kids notice and find a reason to liberate me from my cash.

Corn!

Chickens.  Canon S120
23rd March 2016

The chickens have a little routine in the morning; the ones lower in the ranking head straight to the main food feeder, but the more dominant ones come to me as they know I have a handful of corn.

This morning they all piled out to me after corn; it suggests I may need to fill up their food again!

Undecided

Robin, Nikon D7000
22nd March 2016

It has been a bit chilly in the mornings.   This Robin has been using our garden as its territory for the whole of the Winter.

Now Spring is here at last, the Robin is still making the most of the scraps from around the bird table.  This morning it was sat on the fence as to whether to hit our garden or go to next door.

Not just for steam ships

Rivet.  Nikon D7000
21st March 2016

There are screws, there are nails, but Rivets are about as permanent as it gets.

There was great use made of rivets in ship building, but it appears we have quite a few in the kitchen too.

Dimples

Egg-shell.  Nikon D7000
20th March 2016

I have been getting back to macro photography recently (i.e. there are many more to come!).   Today I got close and personal with some egg shells.

Although they feel smooth and solid, it is only when you get close that you realise quite how many dimples they have.

Rugbi

Wales-Italy.  Canon S120
19th March 2016

Jo managed to score tickets for the Wales-Italy 6-nations rugby match at Cardiff.   She got the tickets many months ago and there was always the question "would be be embarrassed by the performance?"

At 67-14, it was almost as if they were taking it in turns to score!
