Marigold Yellow

Jo pouring soap.  Fuji F10
31st July 2013

As a big fan of the colour yellow, I noticed how Jo's marigold gloves matched the yellow of the towel she was about to use to wrap up the newly poured soap.

The soap is green though with orange and red in it; should be quite spectacular.

Yellow soap sounds good to me, but lemon flavoured rather than banana for once :)

Vanity

Insect looking at its reflection.  Fuji F10
30th July 2013

I noticed this very bedraggled insect today on the edge of a lilly leaf apparently looking at its reflection.

I messed up in my haste to capture the image and missed focussing on its head :(

I did rescue it from its potential watery demise though and put it to dry on the edge of the pond; it looked much happier an hour later when it was dry and flew off.

Its Raining Marbles!

Summer Hail.  Fuji F10
29th July 2013

Zeus has returned today, but this time, he brought a pack of marbles.

The hail pounded down, getting larger all the time until there was a reasonable white coating on the grass.

The noise was even loud enough to drown out the cracks of thunder.

The dog is not happy :(

Swirls and bubbles

Jo's latest soap.  Nikon D80.
28th July 2013

Jo took her latest loaf of soap from the mould today; it is made by piping different colours into the mass of blue background, with very much a "pot luck" of what patterns you get.

I will probably get thumped for this one, but this particular slice does remind me of a few of the characters from a certain kids TV programme...

Flavours: Sour

Lime, heading for a glass of Coke.   Nikon D80
27th July 2013

With the hot weather, there is nothing like a nice cold glass of fizzy pop with a slice of lime in it.

I decided to continue the theme of "the senses" today as whenever I see a cut lime, my mouth puckers at the thought of how it tastes, even without sucking it.

Now, where did I leave those ice cubes...

Little Prick

Odd pin out.  Fuji F10
26th July 2013

I noticed that although most of Jo's pins are long with big yellow heads, there were a few odd pins in the box.

The small red pin stood out in amongst the maelstrom of the longer pins.   A small green pin in the top left seems to have been partaking in photobombing.

Gooseberry Thief

Blackbird after my gooseberries.  Nikon D7000
25th July 2013

Not content with scoffing all my blackcurrants, the blackbirds have turned their attention to my gooseberries too.

There are a few kilos of berries again this year so there are plenty for all of us.

I must be careful with wearing shorts in the garden; just in case they go after my plums.
