Tent City

Sea of Tents.  Fuji F10
4th July 2014

Jo and I are having a weekend away at Knebworth.   The sea of tents is really rather spectacular, however we have decided to go for a hotel with a comfy bed, rather than having our tent pissed on in the night by rowdy drunks.

The Prodigy were on tonight and were loud and spectacular as hoped :)

Hosta Flowers.  Nikon D7000
3rd July 2014

The Hosta's at the back of the pond are flowering well now.   The slugs have not been too bad yet; maybe the frogs are keeping them down :)

I need some more frogs in the veg patch.

Overgrown

Overgrown gatepost.  Fuji F10
2nd July 2014

It has been a while since I first photographed this gate post; the Ivy was only just starting to form.

A series of warm, wet summers has seemed to favour the lush green growth.

Somehow I doubt the ivy is protecting the post underneath from rot....

Mrs Big Foot

Daffodil bulbs.  Fuji F10
1st July 2014

The chickens have been getting out somehow for the last few days.  I had forgotten just quite how big and destructive their feet can be.

One has managed to rake out a whole clump of Daffodil bulbs from one of the beds.   Each time I replant them, it rakes them out again.

I think they are flying out over the fence, so Mr scissors may have to pay a visit and trim some feathers again...

Plastic Fantastic

Printed Frog.  Fuji F10
30th June 2014

I had a roll of yellow plastic delivered today; I did not realise though that it was UV florescent!

I printed a dual-material frog model which has a blue body and yellow eyes and feet.

The blue lights on the printer seem to produce a fair amount of UV and so the plastic glows insanely while it is being printed!

The sweet smell of charred meat

Sausages and Burgers.  Fuji F10
29th June 2014

The sun is out (sort of) so today we have embarked on the traditional family barbeque.   The bangers were fab (despite Katie's vegetarian attempts), the burgers were round and a Nerf-gun battle ensued.

Great fun was had by all :)

Lights, Sound and Grease Paint

Performance of "The Boyfriend",  Nikon D7000
28th June 2014

The local youth group have put on a performance of "The Boyfriend" this week.   I have been helping with the sound and light again, although the jet-lag has been a bit of a burden when it comes to remembering the cues!

The show went very well indeed however with a good full auditorium every performance.
