Slow Transit

Snail.  Fuji F10
27th June 2014

While getting out of the car today, I noticed a snail struggling across the gravel path.  It seemed to be going even slower than normal.

I though about moving it, but as I did not know where it intended going, there was a risk I may have moved it even further from its destination.

It was not there later so I assume it reached its destination ok.

Climbing up Egg mountain

Eggs.  Nikon D7000
26th June 2014

The warm weather has meant the chickens have been laying well (despite a fox having two young ones on Sunday).

The eggs can only form a small mountain before cat-arse-trophies occur, so they end up forming a series of stacks across the worktop.

There are only so many omlettes and pancakes a family can eat!

Roses are too red ...

As Summer is here, then the Roses have started blooming frantically.

Photographing them is always a bit of a challenge however as once again, I managed to clip the red channel in the image :(

Blow Job

New fan bracket on printer.  Nikon D7000
24th June 2014

There is a recursive element to 3D printing; the printer can be improved by printing its own new parts.

This addition is a fan bracket to blow air over the printing nozzle to try to cool the freshly laid filament  as fast as possible.

The blast of air also keeps the plastic bracket cool of course which would be inclined to soften and warp during the print too!

Mrs Richmond re surfaces

Water Lilly.  Nikon D7000
23rd June 2014

The water lilly 'Mrs Richmond' has resurfaced again this year and is looking very splendid indeed.  There is a very good covering of leaves which the fish seem to like, and there are also lots of buds forming.

I am sure they will all open while we are on holiday though.

Purple and Pecked

Tayberries.  Nikon D7000
22nd June 2014

The Tayberries are starting to turn purple and very, very yummy :)

The black birds seem to have noticed too however and have been pecking frantically at whatever fruit seems to be ripe.

I have picked the most yummy ones for now, but I am sure they will still manage to eat their fill.

Sun and Stars

Solargraph of last 6 months.  Ilford VC paper.
21st June 2014

Being the longest day, the sun track at the top of the solargraph is today's.   This morning I was on the other side of the globe; as we arrived at the airport, there was a welcoming committee of fans there to greet us.

When we walked past and they blanked us completely, we realised is was not us afterall; it was 3 spotty youths with slicked hair that emerged from a van a few minutes after we arrived.

No idea who they were!
