It is always an indicator that Summer is truly with us when the fruit in the garden starts to ripen.
Today I spotted that the first of the blackberries was beginning to ripen.
This variety needs to be super ripe before it goes sweet, otherwise it is as sour as buggery.
A crumble is in the offing I think.
